We have excellent facilities, with a private licenced bar, changing rooms, a six-rink bowling green, free carpark, and an approved coaching scheme.

We can offer members competitive bowling with County and National competitions, local Mid Sussex League matches, as well as internal competitions, and more relaxed bowling with friendly matches against other clubs in the county, casual roll ups and fun bowls days. For more information, see Playing Arrangements in the About Us section.

We are a very sociable club, with a BBQ after our Friday evening roll ups, Presentation Dinner and Christmas Party. We also keep up friendships during the winter by playing afternoon away matches against a number of indoor clubs in the area.

If you are a beginner, no special or expensive equipment is required - all you need to have a go is a pair of flat-soled shoes or trainers. The club has a selection of second-hand bowls you can borrow while getting started, and all other equipment is provided for you. When you are ready, we can point you in the right direction to purchase your own shoes,  bowls, bowls bag etc.

Whether you are an experienced bowler or newcomer to the game, you will be well looked after thanks to our "Buddy" scheme, where, if needed, we can introduce you to a friendly face, who would be there to support and guide you through your settling-in period.

The club has two types of membership:

  • Full Playing Member
  • Student Member (over 17 and in full time education)

If you are interested in joining, or would like more information, please contact our Club Secretary, Sue Palmer, on 01435 830986 or email: buxtedbowlsclub@outlook.com
